Residency

For decades, people with disabilities have lived outside the city and have been represented as a body, an object of care, before being considered as people in their own right. The project carried out by the association APF France handicap Occitanie and the Boutographies aims to raise awareness of disability and to get out of the traditional representations through the author's photography.

ARTIST ALEXANDRA FRANKEWITZ

Alexandra Frankewitz

Bio

Alexandra Frankewitz, independent photographer, was largely influenced during her training in Wales by this new form of documentary photography from the 80s which gives way to subjectivity in the documentary approach. The Human is very often at the center of his work. As much as photography, she likes to meet people, dissect their daily lives and the ordinary things that shape their world in order to show a reality close to her with the main motivation being to give voice to the photographed people. She joined the collective of photographers Transit in 2003, with whom she participated in artist residencies alone or as a group and led parallel personal projects: Des Aires, an inventory of mobile housing in France; Nicosia, the last divided capital of Europe....
Moreover, she regularly works for the national press (M le Monde, Libération, Télérama...), for cultural structures or communities. She has obtained several scholarships and awards: help with the creation of the DRAC Occitanie, help with the creation of the Occitanie region, or the coup de Cœur for the Talent Grant. His images are regularly exhibited (BNF, the Hyperfestival, the CRI des Lumières or Third Floor Gallery in Cardiff...).
For twenty years, she has lived and worked in Occitania. she claims a personal writing, on long-term projects at the regional, national and international levels. His projects are multifaceted and involve other professionals in
