Présentation

"White Guy is the name of an ongoing project centred on my father and an attempt to understand the construction of my identity as a cis, white, straight man. The work is fuelled by a lifelong tension. Often I have felt removed from the pressurised and conforming expectations of masculinity. At the same time, I've always had a (guilty) desire to belong to that tribe of men who fit so neatly into these restricted requirements. As I began to photograph my father and his life, my work broadened and I began to think about how my identity relates to masculinity, violence and generational trauma.
