EL OBSERVATORIO

Through a programme of courses focused on reflection and critical analysis of the image or on photographic practice and experimentation, El Observatorio promotes knowledge and understanding of visual language and actively collaborates in the development of new photographic narratives through the training and promotion of emerging authors.
Founded in Barcelona in 2011, it is coordinated by Camilla de Maffei and Eugeni Gay, who in the course of their 13 years of experience have helped more than 300 authors to create their photographic projects.The team of teachers who collaborate with them on the courses is made up of the best professionals in the world of photography (photographers, editors, curators, multimedia creators and designers) and professionals specialising in related disciplines (visual artists, social researchers, journalists, anthropologists, writers).
Since its creation, El Observatorio has opted for a flexible and dynamic format that has enabled it to modify and extend the educational content offered, in line with the needs generated by the evolution of photographic practice over the years.
