In Japan, there are big vermilion red doors, the Torii. These are the doors that allow the passage from one universe to another. The world of the spirits, the kamis, is superimposed on ours, like some memories. The entrances are all around us, and to open them we must call upon our memory and its colors, let our eyes see, our feelings express themselves, the places guide us. We can be our own celestial vehicles for these journeys. For those who have forgotten, photographs, these small glimpses of the past, can become keys.
