Présentation

The genome of Neanderthals, a human species that became extinct 39,000 years ago, has recently been decoded. Scientists from Harvard University are now working on its synthetic reproduction within a human stem cell that could be incorporated into a human surrogate mother. The (re)birth of a Neanderthal clone has hereby become a real future scenario. The surreal case of the Neanderthal clone has caught the interest of the photographer, who deals in her project with both aspects – our origin and our potential future. The images follow a process of metaphorical documentation.
