Présentation

This series show war in Ukraine from a civilian perspective. Mariupol, a city in the Donbas region, borders the first line of fire in the Ukrainian conflict. With half a million inhabitants this makes it the largest city affected by the war, on the Ukranian side of the front line. Half a million people live there, making it the largest city of the pro-Russian separatist Ukraine directly threatened by war . Until 1 September 2015, date of the first cease-fire between the two hostile parties, life in the city was suspended. Despite the relative calm , the majority of people thought that the war was not over. Earlier residents of the city lived in constant fear of the war coming into the city. It is through their eyes that we discover a city in the hearth of the conflict.
