Biographie

Cloé Harent, a French photographer born in 1998, has been developing since 2018 a sensitive and caring approach to the living world.
His series "Le lien de la terre", devoted to peasant practices committed towards food self-sufficiency, receives in 2021 the ISEM Young Photographer Award. It ends in 2023 as part of the mentorship of the VU Agency and the Régnier Fund for Creation, with an exhibition at the VU 'Gallery'. In 2024, it is presented at the Festival Le Champ des Impossibles, screened at Les Boutographies and published in the magazine EPIC.
The same year, Cloé joined the Tremplin Jeunes Talents residency of the Festival Planches Contact in Deauville, where she won the Tremplin Jeunes Talents Prize with her series 'Bruit Rose', a sensory exploration of the fragile biodiversity of the Norman estrans.
In 2025, she continues her residency at the Maison de la Photographie des Landes with 'Des gestes et des rêves', dedicated to youth as apprentices, then at the InCadaqués Festival, where she realizes 'In Memoriam Terrae', a series on the memory of the rock of the protected natural park of Cap de Creus in Spain.

In the 1950s, my great-grandmother used to go into the forest at dawn to gather gorse and heather to make little bundles. She would trade them for bread at the village baker's, who used them to fuel his oven.
Several decades have passed since then. I'm 25 years old now, and in the face of the many crises engulfing our societies, I feel the need to reconnect with the deepest meaning of our relationship with living things.
