Biographie
Loes de Boer (b. 1999) is a photographer based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Her work is rooted in personal reflection and addresses issues of archiving, memory and visibility, with a particular focus on queer and women-centered histories. Deconstruction and metamorphosis are central to her practice: images are reshaped through manipulation, sequencing, repetition and shifts in context. This approach often results in installations and publications. In addition to her personal work, she applies these methods to projects in fashion, art, music and media.
Présentation
In Six Minutes and Eighty Photographs, Two Clouds Appear, Loes de Boer created a montage of images exploring loss and time. Eighty images were taken during a sunset as she walked away from her father’s funeral last year. These photographs remain everything that connects her, to him, after a long and difficult distancing since childhood. This work serves as a piece of memory, an ode and finally as closure.
