CAROLINE JUILLARD

Couples

Présentation

Caroline Juillard confronts places and portraits. Places waiting for a presence; persons without a location. A history of missed rendez-vous. The meeting between the situation and the being seems impossible, condemned always to fail. Then there are these couples, whose charnel presence fills the frame, but as if in a desperate attempt to fill an abyss. It is a reversal of the photographic function, habitually called upon in intimate situations to bear witness to the presence of beings, but here points up an imminent risk of their disappearance.
