Biographie
Born in 1982, Thibault Brunet obtained his degree (DNSEP) from Nimes Art School in 2008. The work presented here was part of the selection reGeneration2, commissioned by the Elysée Museum of Lausanne. This exhibition dedicated to young photographers from international art and photography schools has been shown in numerous towns and cities around the world (Arles, Milan, Miami, New York, Budapest, Pingyao, Cape Town…) and is still continuing.
Présentation
"First Person Shooter" is a term used in war game videos to designate the status of the player as a participant in the game. These games offer a particularly visceral experience by transposing you into the heart of the action through the vision of the character you embody. Thibault Brunet’s images question the reality and its imitations. He is particularly interested in the virtual universe, by enactments, the false and the double. In the coded universe that is the video game, his incarnation prowls the virtual space not like a gamer, but like a photographer.
