COLLECTIF TRANSIT has been established in Montpellier for six years and is composed of six photographers and a project coordinator, While the majority of their work is based on individual projects; it is in the choice of their subjects and their manner of treating them that their paths converge. With a vision that is lucid, devoid of all aggression, occasionally poetic or humorous, they strive jointly to paint a portrait of the world in which they participate. In Argentina, after years of disastrous economic policy supported by the IMF and the World Bank, the system failed, provoking a devaluation of 300% and the freezing of bank and savings accounts.
The bosses, forewarned, escaped with their capital, leaving the workers without jobs and without money. .
After a popular revolt and an unprecedented social upheaval, the Argentineans organised themselves, creating systems of exchange, inter-aid and popular assemblies. Workers in certain enterprises, having been left to their own devices, restarted their machines and sought legal solutions to maintain the businesses.
