White Noise is my first photo book, born out of a need to organize and find meaning in the thousands of compulsive shots I have taken over the past ten years. This frenzy of images seems like an attempt to channel my being by giving visual meaning to what I find difficult to define otherwise. However, I felt the need to slow down, stop, and take a step back. White Noise is therefore a deeply personal project that, at the same time, speaks to others. Similar to the practices of photolanguage, the creative communication technique that draws on the power of images to enable individuals to express themselves and share ideas, feelings, and experiences, the film photographs in White Noise become a visual alphabet available to others. Its black-and-white images become the minimal units of interpretation, infinitely adaptable. Through White Noise, I try to accept and embrace my limitations, to reconcile myself with myself and with the outside world, through reflection. F Drigo
