Biographie

Masoumeh Bahrami is an Iranian documentary photographer born in 1990. She earned her M.A. in Art and Architecture from Mazandaran University. She has a deep
passion for photography, stating, "I have a hole in my heart that washas a deep filled with photography.

She started documentary photography professionally after some courses and worked professionally for some Iranian press. After gaining experience in news photography, she left it to develop her own artistic vision. She wins in several festivals in Iran and outside the border. In Iran such as the 9th Sheed photo award and Huz magazine and international festivals such the Steninf photo contest and Lithuania and etc.

Her work ranges from stories of social efforts and essay projects on self-experimental topics.

Présentation

The Iranian climate is predominantly arid or semi-arid, severely impacted by depleting water resources. The decline in the Caspian Sea water level and rapid urbanization, agricultural development, industrial pollution, mismanagement, and excessive river water use have exposed the wetland ecosystem to severe environmental challenges.
The starting point for this project dates back to the photographer’s childhood, when a taxidermized flamingo was brought to his home as a gift. He was terrified of it, yet it was always there, a constant presence. That fear parallels the deep sense of dread he feels about the destruction of this environment. This project is his way of turning that fear into action, to inspire others to join the fight for conservation.
