In the series La profondeur des roches (The depth of the rocks), Guillaume Amat literally invests the field of representation through his in situ installations, which are regularly performance-based, ranging from staging to sculpture. If the result is eminently photographic, or even pictorial, the implementation of these visual creations is rooted in Land Art. Indeed, the artist rejects all digital post-production in favour of a commitment to the field: mirrors, ropes, paper, hooks, easels and frames are brought to the site for the shots during his various trips.
