Biographie
Flaminia Celata was born in Rome in 1973. After working for a number of years in the fields of interior decoration and restoration, she began to dedicate herself to photography, enrolling in the Rome School of Photography, from where she graduated in 2009. Flaminia lives and works in Rome.

As a coherent series, "Olivier" is remarkably consistent; it documents these curious shapes whilst alternating between images leaning towards pictoriality, filled to the rim with texture, and three-dimensional sculptural, enigmatic objects, which are reminiscent of totems or ancient ritual masks.
These images evoke a scientific process that would aim at being objective and unemotional, but their formal aspect also speaks to one's sensitivity and allows powerful imaginary commitment on the part of the viewer. Thus, the series works at joining the contradictory - yet indivisible - functions of the photographic image, which is always simultaneously a testimony and a representation, both projection and transparency.
