Biographie
Julius C. Schreiner, works as a freelance photo artist in Germany and internationally. He studied with Joachim Brohm from 2015 to 2019, at the Academy of Fine Arts in Leipzig, and a master’s degree with Tina Bara from 2020 to 2024. He also completed an exchange semester at the School of Fine Arts in Athens in 2017, where he started collaborating with various artists and projects, such as with the gallery and book space VOID. Later, he created the work "Prosigfyka" on and with the inhabitants of a Bauhaus district in Athens. Porjet supported and exhibited by the Museum of Art in Magdeburg.
Her work explores visual narratives in urban spaces, focusing on the interaction between individuals and their environment.
Schreiner’s work has been exhibited internationally in galleries such as the UK, Italy and Greece. It has received several awards and has been published in various media, for example The Guardian, Die Zeit, the Reuters Foundation and Urbanautica. Julius Schreiner resides mainly in Berlin and works between Berlin and Leipzig.

"Georg-Schwarz-Straße 2013–2024" examines the transformation of a street in Leipzig named after antifascist Georg Schwarz, who was murdered by the Nazis. Once the city’s "Reeperbahn" in the 1920s, then an industrial and working-class neighborhood until its decline in the 1990s, the series documents over a decade the impacts of urban renewal—balancing social memory, spatial redevelopment, and the displacement of residents.
