Biographie
COLLECTIF TRANSIT has been established in Montpellier for six years and is composed of six photographers and a project coordinator, While the majority of their work is based on individual projects; it is in the choice of their subjects and their manner of treating them that their paths converge. With a vision that is lucid, devoid of all aggression, occasionally poetic or humorous, they strive jointly to paint a portrait of the world in which they participate. Présentation
With this series I wanted to use the phenomenon of the mass summer holiday migration to explore the relationship between man and his vehicle, via photos of these lives and private spaces which intermingle. For the duration of a journey the car becomes an extension of the home; the tarmac a café terrace or a playground.
The motorway rest areas offer the observer a rare occasion to fix a concentrated image of modern European society through the multiplication of situations and the rather exceptional character of the mass holiday departures. These photos show us this humanity, more than ever nomadic.
These photos form the first part of project based on the road.
