Présentation
What Zoe Van Der Haegen shows us here - far from some bucolic, romantic perception of the landscape - is composite wilderness, both mineral and vegetable, the reflection of human construction of which architectural traces remain (crumbling bunkers, concrete vestiges). Ultimately, it is a stage, a set, open to pure speculation. The alternation between pictures that account for reality and compounded "fictional" images encourages the viewers to revaluate their own judgement and to operate the blending of these two parallel realities themselves. The author thus establishes doubt as to the veracity of our system of representation, as an invitation to question our mental landmarks and patterns.
