Biographie

Annabelle Fadat is a graduate of ESMA (Ecole Supérieure des Métiers Artistiques) in the same city. She began her career in photography as a photo assistant at Stella Studio (Paris) and as a photographer for independent musicians and music labels, as well as for the press (Libération, Manifesto XXI, Regain Magazine, Fisheye Maga- zine, Mykali Magazine...). Portraiture became her main photography practice. She returned to the South of France in 2021, when the artistic and conceptual dimension of her work began to develop.
She is interested in the relationship we have with nature, the relationship it has with us as humans, and what summons the ancient essence of our living state.
The relationship with death has always inspired her enormously, and her photography is entirely concerned with what follows from it: the traces we leave behind, nostalgia, rituals, remembrance and how far it can take us.
For her, photography is a way of communicating with temporalities, like relics of real or imagined moments.
Alongside photography, she also makes documentary films.

Présentation

"Seules les fleurs survivront" explores our relationship with death and the disappearance of our environment. By confronting these visions of a world in ruins, this series invites us to reflect on how we live with the idea of our own end, whether individual or collective. These images speak of a loss both real and fantasized, and of the paradoxical desire to grasp what remains.
