Biographie
Marco Rigamonti is not only the artistic director of the festival Fotosintesi in Piacenza, he is also a photographer in his own right, and, a rare case, twice selected for the Boutographies! Before and after Promenade, which we showed in 2010, Marco produced several series which have attracted the attention of numerous festivals and galleries in Italy (Savignano, Venice, Piacenza, Milan, Cremone) and in France. Promenade has subsequently been published as a book (Pazzini Editore) and Stessa Spiaggia, Stesso Maresera will be edited this spring by Postcart Editions (Rome). His work is represented in the International Polaroid Collection, Boston.
Présentation
Marco Rigamonti’s way of proceeding in this series of images is of an extreme simplicity, and is quite simply a return to the original functions of photography: to keep a record, to bear witness to forms and the passage of time acting on them, attesting to the fact that it’s this we are talking about, that thing there, even if we don’t quite believe our own eyes. But here, photography also plays a special role, its own creation of forms, which in truth, hardly existed before. Parasols which flower on a painted wall; a solitary and intimidating rock, set on the sand, which becomes a parking for scooters. We no longer know what provokes our latent nostalgia: the season passed, or the one still to come?
