From a distance, a mother and her baby. A normal scene in a bakery. Then on closer inspection, a woman and her doll. "Here is my daughter Sarah.
Reborning or the art of creating a doll kit is sometimes recommended as an emotional palliative. Perfect optical illusion, the object looks like a real baby. Often judged as morbid or unhealthy, I was curious to know who these mothers, clients or creators really are. Little by little, they reveal themselves. Singular stories where the doll fills a void, often replacing the lost child. Families in mourning, too full of love, their daily life turns strange. And everyone carries this weight.
