In the early hours of 24 February 2022, at around 5 a.m., the sound of bombs rang through the streets of Kyiv and other cities across the country. Ukraine wakes up with a start. Moments before the funeral detonations, the city was still vibrating with post-revolutionary creative energy. This vitality is expressed in photography even more than in other mediums: through it all possibilities emerge, the artists recompose phantasmagorical spaces where we find, in a jumble, the symbols of a new utopia with the relics of the past. Collage, staging or digital transformation of images are all processes that enable the visions and aspirations of a young artistic generation, enamoured of freedom, to be given form beyond reality.
