Présentation
If you walk through certain towns in Israel or Palestine, you can pass from one universe to another in the space of a few metres. Nowhere else have I seen traditions so different and so ingrained existing side by side. Each of these cultural microcosms is an experience of life in itself. I have concentrated my photographic project on the notion of space. I have neither the capacity nor the intention to look at the political or religious implications. My series is simply a way of exploring the individual’s relationship with his personal space.
The space in which we live, evolve, choose our comportment and take our decisions holds a symbolic charge. Each element of our identity is constructed in a given space. When you exceed the limits of this space, you are already impinging on someone else’s liberty. But during the course of this journey, I was also strongly aware of the overlapping of different spaces, despite the physical and imaginary boundaries which cover this territory.
