Biographie
Giulio Favotto is a photographer and visual researcher. After a background spanning classical studies and mathematical-computer science, he continues with studies related to imagery. With a continuous formal exploration of analog, digital, and 3D techniques, he views the image as a tool for dialogue and engages in projects that combine aesthetics, introspection, and social commitment.
Since 2014, he has been part of Anagoor, a contemporary theater collective awarded the Silver Lion at the Venice Theatre Biennale in 2018: our cultural and social identity, the dialogue with other cultures, and the exploitation of the animal world are subjects of a long visual research, often of a documentary nature, that integrates into the theatrical scene.
The experiences in India and Iran mark two very significant moments.
In 2017-2018, he exhibited the Carne da Macello project, a metaphor on hospitality, in a butcher shop and a former slaughterhouse. In recent years he collaborated with WOVO, an Italian organization focused on well-being and sexual education. In 2024, edited by Yogurt and curated by Francesco Rombaldi, he published Paternity Ratio, his first book.

The union of XX and XY had resulted in XX expecting a little h.
As XX and XY had never been a couple, XX decided to give birth to little h independently, without knowing for sure who XY was.
Around the fifth month of pregnancy, I found out by e-mail that I was XY. I participated in the conception, but had no control over the decision.
The PATERNITY RATIO (r) is the formula indicating the ratio between the probability of being a father and the probability of not being a father. As the French psychoanalyst Jacques Lacan put it, "paternity is always an adoption", meaning that biology alone is not a sufficient condition for real and supposed paternity, even in the families we define as such.
This work, in search of a synthesis between love and ratio, enabled me to accept this choice and embrace the revolution I was experiencing.
