Présentation
The photographer has documented three « self-governing » towns of Turkish Kurdistan. These towns live under a curfew and are regularly cut off from the rest of the world by sieges imposed by the Turkish army. The populations live barricaded according to a rhythm of belligerence and funerals. Daily life has become precarious. For this work Mathieu Rosier went to the conflict zone. He concerned himself with the guerrilla actions between the government forces and the different Kurdish rebel groups. His work tries to define the contemporary notions of territory; personal, geographic and ethnic.
