Présentation
Between 1960 and 1980 the Federation of the ex- Yugoslavia erected imposing monuments, the spomeniks, in memory of the resistance of the people during the wars of the beginning of the 20th Century, glorifying the experience of a socialist society, egalitarian and anti-fascist. The conflicts of the 1990’s led to the break-up of the country, and the abandonment or destruction of the majority of the monuments. Only a few remain.
