Biographie
After a BTS in Photography obtained in Roubaix in 2013, Flavio Montrone joined the Ecole Supérieure des Arts de l'Image Le 75, in Brussels, in 2016. He became a workshop teacher and digital image teacher at the same school in 2018.
"Je t'écris pour te dire que je ne suis pas sorti" was made between 2016 and 2022. This work was the subject of a writing residency at Le Boson theatre in Brussels.

Since 2015, Aurelio has been writing again. The request was clear: "talk about your daily life". First on paper, then through voice and video notes. His thoughts come to me daily at first, then interspersed with silences. Nourished by these stories, my response is elaborated in images.
During our meetings, the camera is a pretext for going out, rediscovering the smells and the warmth of the outside world.
Ten years of silence and finally finding the courage to talk about the disease and its impact.
This project mixes both real and imaginary photography in a therapeutic journey aiming at a better well-being. It is not only a statement on mental health, but a desire for emancipation through art and writing. It is a space of expression that allows a dialogue between two brothers to come together.
