Biographie
Toulouse 1989. In 2011 Laura Lafon finished her Master’s degree in cultural expertise with a dissertation on “Liquid” Photography, entitled A sociological approach to the auto portrait in a network, and the post-photographic aesthetics. She then studied at the Ecole Supérieure des Arts de l’Image - the 75 – in Brussels. She is a member of the collective La Claque, and is training in web documentaries.

I never want to see you again (for the time being)
One doesn’t use a peeler. One prefers to peel potatoes with a knife, over yesterday’s newspaper. I discovered that when I left home to share a flat. Several days after my move, I went to spend the day at the seaside with my new friend. In the car we stumbled on France-Culture; they were talking about René Char. I remember having imitated the presenter. I had never, evidently, ever heard anyone talk about him; in our house it wasn’t part of our culture. Had we stumbled across it, we would have listened to one or two sentences then laughed, before zapping. Fanny listened to the whole programme.
This project is the photographic culmination of a questioning which already preoccupied the child, and which undoubtedly will forge the adult. The sentiment of having betrayed one’s social origins, and the anguish, despite everything, of an inevitable loss.
