Présentation

In Ireland, the National Institute for Regional and Spatial Analysis defines as ghost estates a grouping of more than ten houses where at least half remain unoccupied or unfinished. In October 2010, according to official figures, there were 2846 ghost estates and more than 350,000 unoccupied lodgings in the whole of the Irish Republic. The majority of these ghost estates are to be found in the central and western rural counties of Cavan, Leitrim, Longford and Roscommon.
