Présentation

"Corpus Christi" highlights the architectural aesthetics of the new places of worship whose hymn to minimalism represented a real creative breath of modern religious architecture.
Part of a movement that began in the 1920s and continued thanks to great names such as those of Guillaume Gillet, Gottfried Böhm and Auguste Perret, these churches were built for the most part in the 1950s and 1960s.
Scattered throughout Europe and throughout the world, they reveal a new conception of the sacred, a representation of the divine borrowed from modernity, provoking both debate and real rejection on the part of the faithful, certain architects and part of the clergy.
