Le bonheur tue is an artistic project born from the need to transform press photographs that illustrate the different periods of Lebanon’s history. The double explosion that occured at the harbor of Beirut in 2020 brought back the pain and anxiety of a whole nation, giving way to the traumas of a country regularly scarred. The artist, having grown up trying to escape these «ghost images», now seeks to reappropriate them by coloring and manipulating these clichés, to better understand and exorcize the sufferings of the past.
