Présentation
Champ de Bataille invests the European collective memory not as a frozen territory but as a space in mutation, for the occasion of the 80 years since the end of the second world war. At a time when identity narratives are being used as bulwarks, this project seeks to crack open and reveal the underlying fragility of great collective narratives. In the form of photozines that combine photography, critical research and formal experimentation, each chapter of Champ de bataille is a step in an ongoing reflection, where the editorial object becomes itself a memorial investigation tool and a testimony of this investigation. The third chapter, Blast, looks at the destruction of Le Havre during the Second World War; 80% destroyed under the Allied bombs in 1944, Le Havre is reborn after the war under the brutalist patronage of Auguste Perret. Yet, behind its orthogonal facades, there remains a still perceptible tremor: an original blast - the breath of destruction.
