La Panacée, then Centre de Culture Contemporaine, gives us a place, and the festival extends its duration to three weeks. This unexpected move will cause several important developments. We move from a place dedicated to photography to a space devoted to contemporary art in all its forms. The place is spacious, bright, with an amphitheater, and it is also a living space, with a restaurant and student accommodation. Next to the jury selection, we give carte blanche to one of the photographers that we have already exhibited, and who is making a lot of noise with his masterful Power Trilogy: Christian Lutz. The third part, that which concerns the religious and is the subject of the work In Jesus Name, is attacked by the Swiss Evangelical Church which is its subject. The photos are shown to La Panacée as they were arranged to overcome the censorship demanded by the complainant Church, that is to say with a tenfold strength of condemnation of this censorship. This artistic and judicial episode will be the subject of a public meeting between Christian Lutz and law students, centered on the delicate question of image rights.
